If I am elected as Creative Arts Representative, my main goal will be to listen to and represent the voices of all Creative Arts students. My leadership experience through sports, coaching, and mentoring has taught me how to listen carefully, work collaboratively, and stand up for what others believe in. As both a player and coach, I learned that strong leadership means valuing every opinion and turning ideas into action. When people feel heard and included, they are more confident and engaged. This mindset is especially important when representing Creative Arts students because their work and voices are personal and unique. In my school community, I have also served as a mentor, helping younger students adjust to new environments. By listening to their experiences, I learned the importance of empathy, communication, and creating spaces where students feel comfortable sharing concerns. Creative Arts students face demanding schedules that include studio work, performances, exhibitions, and collaborative projects. I will seek feedback, consider diverse perspectives, and advocate for fair decisions that support both the current and future needs of our artistic community.

One of the biggest issues I see is the separation between the main campus and our campus, which can make students feel disconnected or underrepresented. This distance can limit involvement, collaboration, and access to opportunities. Through talking with students, I’ve heard that many feel isolated and unsure how to get involved. As Creative Arts Representative, I would advocate for stronger connections by pushing for joint events, shared initiatives, and better communication about opportunities across campuses. I would bring these concerns to UWSA, ensuring our campus has equal visibility, funding, and representation. By creating more cross-campus programs and collaborative activities, we can bridge the gap and make all students feel included. If elected, I will ensure student voices are heard and work to build a more unified, connected, and supportive campus experience for everyone.

I would approach fair decision-making by making sure I understand the opinions of as many Creative Arts students as possible. I will communicate regularly with students to ensure their ideas, concerns, and feedback are heard and recognized. I plan to gather input in whatever way works best for them, whether through social media, email, calls, or in-person conversations. I want every student to feel they have a voice in decisions that affect them. I will ensure fairness by keeping decisions grounded in the perspectives and votes of the students I represent. My goal is to make all Creative Arts students feel included in shaping events, funding, clubs, and other opportunities. I will actively listen, consider diverse viewpoints, and bring these perspectives to UWSA and university discussions. By prioritizing transparency, inclusivity, and open communication, I aim to create a space where students feel empowered to share their opinions and know they influence decisions that impact their creative and academic experiences.

I believe having multiple voices on the board is essential for bringing accurate student perspectives to UWSA. Shaping a positive experience for Creative Arts students starts with understanding what students enjoy and what challenges they face. Short surveys and direct feedback are useful tools to gather opinions about events, resources, and opportunities in our faculty. If all directors create and conduct surveys for the students they represent, we can identify what is widely appreciated and what needs improvement. UWSA has the ability to support all students, and having many directors ensures that every voice is heard, regardless of year or program. As Creative Arts Representative, I want to be the person who brings as much information as possible from our faculty to the board. This role gives me the opportunity to connect with Creative Arts students, understand their experiences, and ensure their opinions, concerns, and suggestions are shared. If elected, I will work to make sure all Creative Arts students have the chance to be heard, influencing decisions that affect events, funding, clubs, and other initiatives in ways that truly reflect the needs and interests of our artistic community.
