School of Dramatic Arts Director

Melody Hearn

  • I have spent the past year getting involved with the school, making connections and understanding the ins and outs of a mega sucessful school event. I am currently on SAHSS as an arts representative, I rep first years on club SoDA, I am newly the outreach coordinator for CFC, and I am eager to keep this up as a SoDA rep for the UWSA. I am so lucky to have such a thorough background in leadership, having been on my highschools government for all 4 years, a HOBY ambassador and leader, a YLC attendee, a Summer Company ambassador, stacked on top of a zillion hours of leadership volunteering. I believe that as SoDA representative, I will be able to work hard towards bringing in more audience support from across campus. I want to encourage students to come and enjoy the arts, even if it isn't their major. Let's fill those seats and share the love for the arts. Hooray!

  • The most pressing issue we are facing in the school of dramatic art is the lack of outreach across campus. We struggle to bring in crowds to enjoy the products of all the hard work from our amazing performers. I am excited to put my experience and eagerness to use and put SoDA's name out there :)

  • As I am already a member of club SoDa, I know I will be able to ensure accountability, transparency, and fair decision making by involving and consulting the committee in any and all decisions. The SoDA students provide such a welcoming and amazing environment, I am sure I will be able to keep everyone's best interests in mind by including and listening to everyone.

  • I want to be a part of this mission because I believe that everyone deserves a school community where they feel heard and appreciated. I want to take advantage of this opportunity to be an active leader for my peers, working along side them to acheive our common goals. I am motivated to run by all my ideas to bring a hint of spotlight to the SoDA's performances, and to work together to make our time here at school the absolute best it can be.
