Kaiden Wickens

  • Although I do not have direct experience in student governance yet, I bring the perspective of a everyday student who understands many of the challenges students face while balancing academics and campus life. My experiences have shaped me into someone who listens carefully, communicates openly, and wants to get involved because I care about improving student experiences, and I am committed to learning quickly and representing student concerns honestly and effectively.

  • The most important issues students face today would be affordability, mental health, and access to books and resources. Many students are balancing school and work with personal responsibilities, and it can be difficult to feel supported or aware of the services available. In this role, I would advocate for improvements by listening directly to student concerns, communicating regularly with students, and bringing their feedback to the UWSA and university decision makers. My priority would be to help ensure students feel heard, supported, and represented thorough stronger resources clearer, communication, and a more inclusive campus experience.

  • I would approach accountability, transparency, and fair decision making by maintain open and consistent communication with the students I represent. I would keep students informed through regular updates and make sure they understand what issues are being made. I would also actively seek student input through conversations, feedback, and outreach so that their concerns are reflected in my work. My goal would be to ensure that decisions are fair, ethical, and always made in the best interests of students, while representing their voices honestly and respectfully.

  • I believe student governance plays a important role in shaping the student experience by ensuring students have a voice in decisions that affect their academic and campus life. Effective student leadership should be based on listening, advocating, and working collaboratively to improve services, support, and opportunities for all students. I am motivated to run because I want to be more involved in creating a stronger and more supportive campus community. I hope to contribute by representing student concerns honestly, communicating openly, and helping ensure students feel heard, included, and supported through UWSA and the University.
