As a student in the Faculty of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, I have worked closely with the UWSA, the Student Success and Leadership Centre, and the Division of Student Affairs. I currently serve as the elected representative for the Department of Communication, Media, and Film, where I advocate for student needs and help strengthen communication between students, faculty, and administration. These experiences have allowed me to understand the challenges FAHSS students face and the importance of collaboration in addressing them. I bring a perspective that values inclusivity, creativity, and transparency, and I am dedicated to ensuring that every student in our faculty feels supported and represented in university decision-making.

FAHSS students face ongoing challenges around visibility, funding, and recognition. Many students in arts and social sciences programs do incredible work but often lack the same access to resources or opportunities as other faculties. I want to advocate for more support in areas such as experiential learning, research funding, and creative initiatives that help students apply their skills beyond the classroom. At the Board level, I would push for stronger collaboration between the UWSA and faculty departments, better promotion of FAHSS events and achievements, and improved access to mental health and academic support. My goal is to ensure that FAHSS students are not only represented but celebrated for the unique perspectives they bring to our campus.

Accountability begins with open communication. I believe that transparency means making decisions that are clearly explained and supported by student input. I will advocate for fair decision-making that includes diverse voices and ensures all students, regardless of program or background, have equal access to opportunities. By staying connected with faculty representatives and student groups, I will make sure that decisions at the Board level reflect the real needs and priorities of our community.

The UWSA Board of Directors should be a strong advocate for students and a driving force in shaping an inclusive and engaging campus experience. It should serve as a bridge between students and the university, ensuring that student voices guide decisions that impact academics, services, and campus life. I want to be part of that work because I believe in empowering students to take ownership of their experience and have their ideas heard. Through my involvement with the UWSA and campus organizations, I have seen how collaboration can create meaningful change. I hope to continue contributing to that by helping make the University of Windsor a place where every student feels supported, valued, and inspired to succeed.
