Every year, the UWSA recognizes individuals at the University of Windsor who have shown exceptional leadership skills or have volunteered their time selflessly. To nominate yourself or another student, please fill out the nomination form and submit it to the Vice President of Student Services through email (vpssuwsa@uwindsor.ca) or in person at the UWSA Office (CAW Student Centre, Room 209).

Applications are due Saturday, March 9th, 2019 and must include a one-page description of your nominee, their contact information, which award you are nominating them for, and why they deserve the award. Awardees will be presented with their award at the UWSA Annual Gala on Friday, March 29th, 2019.

AWARDS AVAILABLE:

First Year Student Award
Awarded to a student for making an outstanding contribution to student life in their first year.

Student Group of the Year
Awarded to the ratified student group that has shown to be most innovative and active on the University campus and has experienced a growth in its members.

Dr. Dale Woodyward Student Volunteer Award 
Recognizes incredible volunteer efforts of an individual within the UWSA or the University community during the past year.

The “Gold W” Award of Excellence
Awarded to a full-time undergraduate student who has excelled in extra-curricular activities and has exemplified leadership for the benefit of students at the University of Windsor.

The Ron Ianni Student of the Year Award 
Awarded to a full-time undergraduate student who has contributed unselfishly to the enhancement of campus life and exhibited the spirit of being an outstanding member of the University of Windsor community.

UWSA Volunteer of the Year
‌Awarded to a full-time undergraduate student who has taken part in events and initiatives within the University of Windsor Students’ Alliance throughout the year. This student will have contributed toward making the UWSA better fulfil its mission to represent, advocate and serve.

Global Village Award
Awarded to a full-time undergraduate student who has made significant contributions to humanitarian efforts on a global scale while representing the University of Windsor as an international ambassador.

Excellence in Teaching Award
Recognizes a faculty member who has been selected by the students as an outstanding instructor.
