Student's Guide to Renting

Off Campus Housing Listings

Places4Students.com is the world's premier website for landlords to advertise their rental properties to post-secondary students.

Places4Students.com is an off-campus housing service solution provided to schools. It is completely fluid to meet the individual needs of each school. Our services are completely branded to the school ensuring a seemless addition to your current online offerings. Places4Students does not charge schools any type of fee and we do not charge students to use the web site. Places4Students Inc. assumes all of the headaches and administrative costs associated to running the off-campus housing listing service and provides a percentage of the revenue generated back to the schools using Places4Students.com as its off-campus housing solution.

As a Tenant You Need to Know Your Rights!

Did you know that if you are sharing accommodations with more than 3 persons you have the right to ask your landlord the following questions:

  • Is this property licensed by the City of Windsor?
  • Does this property meet all fire and building code safety standards?
  • Are there bedrooms in the basement or in the attic spaces?
  • If so, do they meet the requirements of the Ontario Fire or Building Codes? Does this property have the acceptable number of exits?
  • Does this property have the correct number of smoke alarms? Fire extinguishers? Fire Alarms? Emergency Lights?
